Welcome to Service Guru ("we", "us", or "our"). Service Guru is a home services booking platform that connects customers with skilled service professionals for services such as electrical work, plumbing, cleaning, and more.

By registering or using the Service Guru App, you agree to the collection and use of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

We use Firebase (by Google) for the following:
- Firebase Authentication — manages your sign-in credentials (email and password)
- Cloud Firestore — stores your profile, bookings, service history
- Firebase Hosting — hosts our web-based admin dashboard
Note: We do NOT currently collect GPS location, real-time location data, or integrate with any maps service. Your address is entered manually as plain text.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
3.1 To Provide Our Services
- Create and manage your account
- Process and manage your service bookings
- Assign appropriate service professionals to your booking
- Send booking confirmations, status updates, and reminders via the App
- Process Cash on Delivery (COD) payments at the time of service
3.2 To Improve Our Platform
- Analyse usage patterns to improve app features and user experience
- Debug and fix technical issues using crash reports
- Understand service demand and operational performance
3.3 For Communication
- Notify you of booking confirmations, status changes (Pending → Confirmed → Completed)
- Send important service or account-related updates
- Respond to your support queries or feedback
3.4 For Safety & Security
- Verify identity and prevent fraudulent activity
- Monitor platform abuse and enforce our Terms of Service
Data Retention
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to:
- Maintain your active account
- Fulfil legal or regulatory obligations
- Resolve disputes and enforce agreements

- Encryption in Transit: All data transmitted between the App and our servers uses industry-standard TLS/HTTPS encryption.
- Firebase Security Rules: Access to your Firestore data is governed by strict Firebase Security Rules — only authenticated users may read their own data.
- Password Security: Your password is never stored by us directly; authentication is handled securely by Firebase Authentication.
- Access Control: Only authorised personnel (admin users) have access to your data through our Admin Dashboard, with role-based access controls.
While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
Service Guru is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or under the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA). Any disputes arising out of this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Jalgaon, Maharashtra, India.
